I am a graduated student of STEM. I can say that my journey was good, and I didn’t regret being a graduate of STEM.
But I wonder, as of now, why did I even choose STEM when I want to be a writer or a psychologist? They all fall into HUMMS.
And it struck my head.
STEM is indeed a practical choice with a lot of opportunities, including scholarships and job possibilities.
I guess I chose this since I considered practicality over passion way before.
But look at me now. I didn’t give up my passion for writing and studying psychology, even if I had chosen the STEM path.
I decided to follow the practicality of studying STEM while holding on to my passion for writing and psychology.
May your path be challenging and the winds strong, yet hold onto your dreams, for even when practicality calls, your interests can thrive on any path.
Don’t let practicality overshadow your dreams.
Never forget your passions’ gleam.
They can still shine through, in any way.
And your future will still be bright and ablaze.
My experience goes to show that practicality and passion can coexist and that you don’t have to give up on your dreams just because you have chosen a different path.
Who says you can’t integrate these dreams into your current path? Just because I’m in STEM doesn’t mean I can’t also read books on psychology or write in my free time.
Perhaps one day, your way will take a turn, and you’ll find yourself following your dreams more directly.
Who knows what the future holds?
Even when the path is treacherous and steep,
Do not let the shadows of doubt creep in.
So hold on tight; do not despair.
Your dreams are yours, for you to wear.
