“You can’t control the wind, but you can adjust your sail.” — Unknown

Life is a boundless ocean, and we’re the captains of our own ship. Sometimes, the seas are rough, with huge waves and a strong current that can throw us off.

The wind, the tides, and the other ships sailing around us — they’re all beyond our control. But the good news is that we can steer and adjust our own ship.

We can’t control the past. It’s gone; we can only focus on the present. We can’t change what happened, we can’t turn back time, and we can’t undo our mistakes, but we can glean valuable lessons from them.

We can’t control other people. You can’t force them to accept, like, spending time with you. Nevertheless, we are in charge of choosing how we will react to them, how we respond to them, and how we view ourselves, regardless of how they see us.

We can’t control the change. It is a part of life, and fearing it can lead to holding onto something that can never remain the same. Everything in life is constant, and embracing this allows us to find inner peace.

We can’t control the future, the time, the traffic, what happens around me, or the outcome of my efforts.

But we can manage our boundaries, our thoughts, what we give our energy, how we speak, how we move on, and how we handle things.

Like a ship’s captain navigating the sea,

we can adjust and steer ourselves

towards our desired destination,

rather than being swept away by the tide.

No matter how we strive to make or do everything right, many things and ways are beyond our influence.

So why waste your precious energy on the unchangeable?
